english charm!

nothing catches our eye like a delicious, victorian sponge cake! there's something so wonderful about how elegant, yet rustic this wedding cake looks. it works and it's not every day that a wedding cake tips the "let's dig in" scale! {cake: the needlemakers, photographer: lisa devlin—see more of the wedding here}

mirror, mirror, can you dress up my wall?

i've started to collect vintage, silver platters—not out of trendiness, but because i find a story and beauty behind each tarnished treasure. now what to do with my finds? cabinet space is limited in my urban townhome so i began searching for ideas. i found and love the look of showcasing my treasures on a bare wall! equally, i love using mirrors of unusual shapes and textures instead of wall art—especially over a gorgeous bed! {lucas allen photography, joe schumezer photography}

the pop shoppe, a 1970's favorite from ontario, canada is back and cuter than ever! these adorable bottles instantly spurred thoughts of all the great parties and events this drink could be served. paired them with a fun theme and a stripe, paper straw and you have the start of something grand!

shades of pink

there are so many reasons we love these two pictures {lc lauren conrad for kohl's & martha stewart weddings}! first, the oversize balloons are to die for and the petals use on the tiered cake, divine! the color gradient is such a dramatic effect in a modern way! we could see this used on tissue paper garland, bedroom walls and handmade stationary!
